Cicero’s media training is highly practical.

Beginner media training, issues media
training, advanced training

Cicero Communications has provided media training for more than a decade to a range of clients: superannuation funds, national professional services firms, industry associations and billion-dollar property developments as well as government boards and entities.

We offer highly practical media training, focused on strengthening your ability to get across positive messages about your business and to skilfully deal with potentially negative and controversial media issues.

Our aim is to give peace of mind that your spokespeople will be able to positively promote the firm’s core messages, and handle intense media questioning.

In a half-day workshop, we start with an overview of how the media works and how a journalist thinks and structures questions. We cover good communication techniques for newspaper, radio and television interviews.

Cicero then works through key messages with you and gives extensive feedback on ways to improve each interview you do with a journalist.

Training incorporates:

  • Risk management – assessing media risk
  • What the media wants (and how interviews differ for print, online, TV and radio)
  • Developing and delivering strategic messages
  • How to give a good interview
  • Media-friendly language
  • How to handle difficult or unexpected questions
